Mission Statement
Providence Academy is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school with a comprehensive, core-knowledge curriculum that promotes superior academic achievement, mastery of skills and content, character development and citizenship within a faith-filled, Christian environment.
Philosophy
From the heart of our motto, “Faith, Knowledge, and Virtue,” Providence Academy develops habits of spirit, mind, and action to prepare students for future leadership in vocations and civic life. The faith and morals taught by the Catholic Church provide the foundation for time-honored training in the liberal arts and sciences. An emphasis on the intellectual and cultural heritage of Western civilization highlights principles of freedom and justice necessary for American self-government. The curriculum’s rigor instills customs of discipline and assures breadth and depth in students’ mastery of educational basics. Extracurricular activities and events incorporate the diverse, God-given talents and interest of young people, in accord with our mission.
Traditional Education Infused by Innovation
Providence Academy students in all grades experience a core of subjects that forms intellectual bonds between the students and faculty that encourages critical thinking, and, augmented with elective areas of study, ignites creativity and bolsters individual talents.
“The core knowledge curriculum is an outstanding framework for developing academic excellence and breadth of understanding. The curriculum was brought to life by well-educated, respectful and kind teachers with Catholic values. It is refreshing to see that this kind of environment, focused on the development of our children into fine, caring adults, can thrive today.” -Parents of a recent Providence graduate

"At Providence Academy, we're serious about studies, but you can also have fun. From participating on, or cheering for our sports teams, to enjoying the many extra-curricular activities, to just hanging out with the great friends you meet, Providence really makes learning and having fun at the same time possible.” -A Providence Academy student
Faith and Reason Unite
Whether in personal moral choices or thinking through ethical issues facing the broader society, Providence’s focus on both the Catholic faith and its intellectual tradition specially prepares students for intelligent Christian living.
“The mission of faith, knowledge and virtue really framed our son’s experience at Providence. It’s the defining thought process you go to when you are identifying or deciding what you are doing, what life is about, what school is about… It really put him in a position to be successful, that’s what Providence did.” - A Providence Academy parent
Informed American Citizenship
At Providence Academy, students explore such questions as “What is duty? What is honor? What is justice?” and establish a highly distinctive culture of joy and respect. Students say the Pledge of Allegiance along with daily prayer.
“I am studying at the United States Air Force Academy, a place I have wanted to go ever since I started school at Providence. Providence not only helped me get there but also taught me the lessons I needed to be successful there. It is definitely a different environment but the same foundation of hard work and good morals really pushed me through the Academy. -A Providence graduate and cadet at the United States Air Force Academy
Likely Leaders Emerge
Two seniors receive Faith, Knowledge, Virtue award, taking top honors over those with the highest grade point averages. Moreover, students with above-average grades report back as graduates with strong testimonies to the transformative nature of the school’s programs.
“Every day I reap the benefits of attending Providence. I would not change a single thing about my experience there, and I sincerely mean that. Providence had undoubtedly provided me with a foundation of faith, education, and overall morality that I will always keep with me. I sometimes catch myself wishing I could go back for a day, just to be around the amazing group of motivated and enthusiastic faculty.” –A Providence graduate and student at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management
National Recognition
Providence Academy is recognized nationally as part of a select few Catholic schools ranked consistently in the Top 50 by the Catholic High School Honor Roll.
From the Admission Offices at national colleges and universities:
"Your overall academic preparatory program is exceptional. I have been very impressed with your facilities, curriculum requirements/electives, faculty, and students during my visits." –Admissions Director at a large, national, research-based university.
“In my thirty years in college admissions, Providence is one of only two secondary schools to make its debut and prove in its short history that its outstanding programs and facilities will endure the test of time” - Dean of Admission at a medium-size national university
Considering the question of preparedness of an incoming freshman class…“Many of our incoming students fall far short of the well-rounded education in the humanities and sciences that Providence provides. The Upshot? The real question we should ask is ‘what well-rounded subject matter should our other incoming freshmen have in order to measure up to that of Providence Academy’s students’." –Vice President of a small, national liberal arts college
